Nahan, February 1

The season’s first snowfall threw life out of gear in the higher reaches of Sirmaur district this morning. Hundreds of villages were powerless and several interior roads were closed. The movement of vehicles continued on the Haripurdhar-Nahan road, but a bus got stuck near Kharoti village on the Solan-Ronhat-Minas road, which disrupted the traffic on this route for three hours.

More than 400 villages of the trans-Giri area and 80 villages of the Sangrah area remained powerless for several hours. Electricity supply was also disrupted in over 100 villages of Nohradhar area.
