Virbhadra’s statue unveiled in Shimla's Rohru

Vikramaditya Singh, Minister for Public Works and Urban Development, and state Congress president Pratibha Singh presided over the event.
Vikramaditya said that Virbhadra Singh was the architect of modern Himachal who had ensured balanced and uniform development. Virbhadra represented the Rohru Assembly constituency and ensured that it did not lag behind in development in any way.
The minister said that despite various difficulties and adverse circumstances, Virbhadra made all efforts for the development of the state and was remembered by both Congress and BJP. “Today, we should take a pledge to move forward on the path shown by Virbhadra Singh so that there is no hindrance in the development of the state,” he added. He assured the people of the area that there would be no let-up in the development of the region.
Vikramaditya said that under the phase-4 of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, Rs 64 crore had been approved for 22 roads in the Rohru Assembly constituency. He added that road projects worth around Rs 250 crore to Rs 300 crore were in progress in the area under the Public Works Department.
Pratibha said, “We all need to follow the path shown by Raja Virbhadra Singh to ensure the overall development of the state. Virbhadra ensured the overall development of the Rohru Assembly segment which he represented five times.”
Incumbent Rohru MLA Mohan Lal Brakta said that the people of the constituency were indebted to Virbhadra for ensuring overall development.
