Vision for Viksit Bharat: SPU-Mandi to host national workshop on NEP 2020
A national workshop on “New Education Policy (NEP) 2020: Shaping Education for Viksit Bharat” will be organised by Sardar Patel University (SPU), Mandi, from March 7 to 8. Giving details about the workshop, SPU Vice Chancellor Prof Lalit Kumar Awasthi said the objective of the workshop is to explore the vision of NEP-2020 in building a developed India.
Prof Awasthi said the workshop will help to create a sustainable framework for policy implementation and to promote equitable and inclusive education besides highlighting the role of teacher in nation building. The workshop will focus on holistic and multidisciplinary learning. Prof Awasthi said such kind of workshop is being organised for the first time at SPU Mandi in which various eminent scholars from the academia have been invited to deliver their talks.
“The inaugural session will be held on March 7 at 10 am in the university auditorium and IIT-Mandi Director Prof Laxmidhar Behra will be the chief guest on this occasion,” he said.
Other speakers, who will apprise the participants with their insights, include NITTTR-Chandigarh Director Dr Bhola Ram Gurjar; NIT-Bhopal Director Prof KK Shukla; Delhi Technical University VC Prof Prateek; IIT-Delhi Prof Chandrashakhar; NIT-Jaipur Director Prof NP Padhy; and NIT-Sikkim Director Prof Mahesh Govil. “Faculty members from universities, colleges and industry professionals will also attend this workshop,” he added.
