Shimla, February 17
The BJP today dubbed the second Budget presented by the Congress government as visionless and directionless, offering nothing to the youth, farmers and women. “There’s nothing in the Budget for the youth, farmers and women of the state. It’s a Budget full of announcements without any allocations,” said Vipin Singh Parmar, Sullah MLA and former Assembly Speaker, and other MLAs here.
Leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur, in a statement issued later, accused Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu of lying and misleading people in the Budget. “People will reject the Budget. There is no relief for any section of society in the Budget,” he said. Thakur said that the Congress kept harping about the BJP government taking loans but this government had broken all records in taking loans. “This government has taken Rs 14,000 crore loans in its 14-month rule, which the Chief Minister admitted in the Budget today,” he added.
He also took a swipe at the Congress for fixing the MSP for the procurement of cow milk at Rs 45 and Rs 55 for buffalo milk. “The Congress government had promised to procure buffalo milk at Rs 100 per litre and cow milk at Rs 80 per litre,” he said.
