Drug de-addiction centre in bad shape
The drug de-addiction-cum-rehabilitation centre at Nurpur is in a bad shape. The centre being run by the Kangra District Red Cross Society has failed to serve its prime purpose due to the lack of requisite infrastructure and staff for the rehabilitation of drug addicts. This is the lone government-run drug addicts’ rehabilitation centre in lower Kangra areas comprising four subdivisions of Nurpur, Jawali, Fatehpur and Indora. The state government should immediately provide all necessary facilities so that the parents of drug addicts have not to go to expensive private drug de-addiction centres being operated in Nurpur and Indora areas, bordering Punjab. — Rakshap, Jassur (Nurpur)

Some Volvo bus operators are charging around Rs 2,000 per seat, double the normal fare. The agencies concerned should check this malpractice. — Rajesh, Shimla
