In a significant drug bust, the Solan police arrested a 20-year-old youth from West Bengal with over a kilogram of cannabis. The arrest took place last evening in the Klein area of Solan, following a tip-off to the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) about illegal drug dealings in the region.

The police identified the suspect as Dheeraj Kumar Yadav of Jenotola in West Bengal. Acting on the information, the SIU team raided his rented accommodation and found him in possession of 1.212 kg of cannabis. The authorities arrested him and registered a case under Section 20 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

During the investigation, Dheeraj revealed that he had arrived in Solan just four days ago and had brought the cannabis from Nepal. The police are now looking into his previous criminal record to gather more information about his involvement in drug trafficking.
