What Our Readers Say: Another lift needed at IGMC
THE staircase of the block of the IGMC that houses MRI and CIT scan facilities on the ground floor is very narrow, and patients find it very inconvenient to use these stairs. The single lift in this block falls short of catering to the huge rush of patients going up and down in this block. The administration should look into installing another lift here for the convenience of patients and attendants. —Suresh, Shimla
Construction work causing jams in Kangra
THE construction work of a small bridge over a drain on the main road of Kangra town is being carried out during peak traffic hours. The construction, which has been going on for over a week, has been leading to heavy traffic jams in the town. Ideally, the construction should have been carried by contractors during the night or early morning, when traffic is significantly less, to save people from traffic jams. —Lokender Thakur, Kangra
Poorly built pavements
CONCRETE pavements, constructed along the Moli road in Dharamsala a few months ago, have fallen apart this monsoon. The concrete has been washed away and pavements have developed potholes. This illustrates the poor quality of work done by government contractors and an inquiry should be ordered into it. —Satish Sharma, Dharamsala
