The crash barriers from Barad to SDM office on the Anni-Bashta road have been damaged. No steps had been taken to fix these barriers, which might lead to an untoward incident. The ragpickers might take these unattended and detached barricades, escalating the expenses. Meanwhile, the commuters are facing hassles due to the railings lying on the road. The authorities concerned should repair the damaged barriers at the earliest to avoid any mishap and for the convenience of the commuters. —Jai Singh, Anni
Curtail infrastructural loot
The officers responsible for failed infrastructural projects should be held accountable and penalised for their negligence which led to the waste of public money. The Kullu-Manali national highway suffered major damages during floods last year and it exposed the quality of work undertaken by the contractors of the NHAI. The Bhootnath bridge in Kullu became defunct just within five years of its inauguration and no one has been held accountable for such big waste of public money. The government should ensure that such infrastructural loot is curtailed. —Sanjay, Kullu
