Pedestrian paths were built alongside most of Cart Road and other roads connecting Shimla with surrounding areas, with an emphasis on pedestrians’ safety. Unfortunately, the careless and indifferent attitude of the authorities concerned is defeating its purpose. The unfinished patch near Vikasnagar is a glaring example of the apathy of the authorities. The authorities concerned should expedite the construction of the pedestrian paths in the town in the interest of the locals.
