PLASTIC bottles are being carelessly discarded in many areas of Shimla, posing a serious threat to environment. These bottles are known to be highly toxic, taking years to decompose and causing long-lasting damage to ecosystems. It is imperative that the authorities take stricter measures to tackle this issue by imposing fines on individuals who irresponsibly throw plastic waste in open spaces. The government and local bodies must take immediate action to preserve the beauty and health of Shimla for future generations. —Jagdish, Shimla
