Regulate overcharging by three-wheelers

Three-wheeler operators in Kullu town are charging arbitrarily and have not displayed fare lists. The fare for a distance of about 2 km between Dhalpur and Akhara is fixed at Rs 50, but most of the operators are charging Rs 70. Similarly, they are charging about Rs 10 extra per km on other local routes. They also carry additional passengers and do not offer any discounts when pooling the ride. The overcharging by the three-wheeler operators should be regulated and they should be penalised for not displaying the fare list. —Amit, Kullu
