The state government started the procurement of wheat at the minimum support price (MSP) of Rs 2,425 per quintal today. Farmers need to register themselves on the HP Agriculture Produce Procurement Portal for the purpose.

The farmers can register themselves by linking their digitized land records. The produce is received in designated markets and payments are made to farmers through the online mode. Up to the first day of procurement, 487 farmers have registered themselves on the portal and tokens have been generated for 182 farmers.

For procurement purpose, 10 centres have been opened in the wheat producing areas.
