Former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal here today said the people of the country sleep in peace as soldiers of the Army protect our borders round the clock.

He added that former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee honoured the supreme sacrifice of soldiers during Kargil War. Dhumal said brave soldiers of the country won many wars in past — including 1948. The matter was taken to the United Nations and our leaders lost it there, he added.

He said everyone must be ready to help soldiers so that they get due rewards and honour for their service to the nation. Leaders of district and block BJP units were among those present on the occasion.
