Will strive for a drug-free Una, says new SP Rakesh Singh
Una, February 19
Rakesh Singh, IPS officer of the 2017 batch, today joined as SP, Una. He was earlier Commandant of 5th India Reserve Battalion at Bassi in Hamirpur district. He belongs to Shimla.
Rakesh (50) said that his top priority would be to ensure faith of the common man in the rule of the law. He added that he would strive towards a drugs-free Una. Besides, his other priorities would be to maintain a proper traffic system and checking illegal mining in the Swan river.
The SP said the issue of anti-social elements entering the state from Una under the garb of pilgrims needed to be tackled. He added that in the present era of digitalisation, cyber crime was another aspect that required to be addressed.
