Local villagers alerted authorities, prompting the administration to deploy rescue teams to the affected site. Anni Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Laxman Kanet, DSP Chandershekhar Kaith and other officials visited the disaster zone to oversee relief and rescue operations.

The administration has distributed Rs 57,500 as immediate relief to affected families and issued directives to ensure proper arrangements for shelter and food. In Patarna, the kutcha houses of Dharamveer and Krishna Chand, along with the pucca house of Jai Singh, were destroyed. Their cowsheds and livestock were also buried under the rubble.

Heavy rains and landslides have damaged at least six buildings in Khadvi village. Displaced families are currently seeking temporary refuge with neighbours and relatives, while revenue officials were assessing property losses. Damage evaluation across other parts of the subdivision is being done.

In a separate incident, a car was swept away by strong currents in Chhanot Nala, located in the Punan Khad area of Anni. The number of occupants remains unknown and search operations are underway to locate the vehicle and any passengers.

The administration responded immediately upon receiving reports and has instructed teams to accelerate relief efforts. Authorities are working to provide emergency shelter and essential supplies to affected families. Due to the heavy downpour, several roads across the subdivision have been blocked. The Public Works Department has been directed to clear these routes on priority. Efforts are also underway to restore drinking water and electricity supply in the region.

The continuous rainfall over the past few days has caused widespread destruction, underscoring the area's vulnerability to extreme monsoon conditions. As a precautionary measure, the administration has declared a holiday for all educational institutions in the district tomorrow.
