A 39-year-old woman was killed while three others sustained serious injuries when the vehicle they were travelling in fell into 2,000-feet deep gorge near Pashada Khad on Rampur–Jhakari stretch, about 170 km from here, on Sunday morning around 9.30 am.
The vehicle with four occupants (all employee of maintenance department in SJVNL, posted at Jhakri in Shimla district) was on its way to Rampur when the tragedy struck. A police team from Jhakri and fire fighter team from Rampur were rushed to the spot to carry out rescue operation.
The deceased was identified as Saroj Thakur, wife of Govind Ram, resident of Kavi village in Nirmand tehsil, Kullu. The injured, including driver Satish Kumar (28), Pradeep Kumar (23) and Sanyaro (34) were shifted to Rampur hospital and are under treatment.
