A team of officials from the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau, (VACB) Solan, on Tuesday arrested SI Veena Paul, posted at the women’s police station as an additional SHO (Baddi), while accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from a woman.
Additional Director General of Police, VACB, Anurag Garg said Veena Paul had demanded Rs 5,000 from the complainant for not implicating her in a kidnapping case. She was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe from the complainant at the police station.
A team, led by DSP Santosh Kumar, arrested her. A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered.
