In view of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, a training programme for district-level and constituency-level master trainers was organised on Monday at the Bachat Bhawan, Chamba. The programme was chaired by Additional District Magistrate Rahul Chauhan.

Chauhan said it was essential for all participating officials and employees to have a clear and comprehensive knowledge of their respective duties in the electoral process to ensure that elections were flawless and impartial.

To train all officials and employees involved in the electoral process, regular training programmes were being organised by the Election Commission of India, Chauhan added.

Through the training program held today, master trainers would be prepared for all five Assembly constituencies of Chamba district, he said, adding that the trainers would train officials and employees on election duty in each Assembly constituency.

Chauhan said for a smooth election process, all nodal officers have to play a leading and important role. They should have their work done in advance so that they do not face any problems during the election process.

He advised all nodal officers to study the latest directives of the Election Commission of India, adding that a good understanding of the rules was necessary for compliance with the directives.

Subdivisional Magistrate Bhattiyat Paras Aggarwal, and Nodal Officer (Sweep) and District Employment Officer Arvind Singh Chauhan provided detailed information about various election processes to the officers and employees attending the training programme.
