Yellow alert for heavy rain at isolated places in Himachal

The weather department has issued a yellow alert for heavy rain and thunderstorm for tomorrow at isolated places in all districts except for Lahaul and Spiti and Kinnaur. From August 21 onwards, as per the forecast issued by the weather department, the weather is likely to be dry for the next few days.

As per the State Disaster Management Authority, there are still 107 roads across the state blocked for traffic. Also, 91 distribution transformers and 36 water supple schemes are also disrupted by the monsoon rains.

The maximum number of roads are obstructed n district Shimla (48), followed by 24 each in district Kullu and Mandi. The highest number of DTRs is disrupted in district Hamirpur (61), and the maximum water supply schemes are disrupted in district Kullu (19).

Meanwhile, light to moderate rain occurred at many places in the state during the last 24 hours, and heavy to very heavy precipitation occurred at isolated places. The highest rain was recorded at Bilaspur (140 mm) and Baijnath (120 mm).
