The Weather Department has issued a yellow alert for heavy rains with thunderstorm and lightning over the next three days at isolated areas. There will be a decrease in precipitation from July 14.

The department has warned about localised flooding of roads, waterlogging in low lying areas, and occasional reduction in visibility at places where heavy rain is recorded. The heavy precipitation could cause disruption in traffic, minor damage to kutcha roads and vulnerable structures. There is a possibility of landslides and land sinks as well. The department has also warned about damage to horticulture and standing crops in some areas due to inundation.

The department advised against going to areas facing waterlogging problems and staying in vulnerable structures. Currently, 12 roads are obstructed due to precipitation, nine power distribution transformers and three water supply schemes have also been disrupted.
