The Weather Department has issued a yellow alert for several districts in the state, predicting spells of light to moderate precipitation. According to the forecast, many spells of light precipitation, coupled with a few moderate spells accompanied with thunderstorm/lightning and gusty winds, are very likely over some parts of Chamba, Kangra, Kullu and Mandi from the early morning of March 26 to late night of March 27.

A few spells of light precipitation with one or two moderate spells are very likely over some parts of Lahaul-Spiti and Kinnaur from the late night of March 25 to late night of March 27. The Weather Department has also predicted rain in Shimla, Hamirpur, Bilaspur and Una from tomorrow morning.

A few spells of light precipitation with one or two moderate spells are very likely over tourist destinations in the districts of Chamba (Dalhousie), Kangra (Dharamsala), Kullu (Manali, Solang Valley and Rohtang Pass) and Lahaul-Spiti (Sissu) and the adjoining areas from forenoon of March 26 to the night of March 27.

The department has forecasted a drop in temperature by 3-4°C in the next 3-4 days, following the rain and snowfall. The weather is expected to clear up by March 28.
