In a vibrant display of creativity and entrepreneurship, college students of Mandi and Kullu have transformed Seri Manch in Mandi into a bustling marketplace.
To mark the upcoming Raksha Bandhan festival, they showcased an array of intricately crafted Rakhi gifts, designed by the students themselves.
The venue, which is known for hosting cultural events, was abuzz with activity as students set up their stalls, each brimming with handmade rakhis and festive decorations.
Students aimed to get a platform to market their creations, fostering practical business skills and encouraging entrepreneurial spirit.
Among the items on display were beautifully embellished rakhis, made from traditional threads, contemporary beads, sequins and other materials.
The college-goers also crafted a variety of accompanying gifts — such as personalised cards, decorative boxes and small handcrafted items.
The initiative not only promoted local craftsmanship, but also highlighted the importance of preserving traditional arts in a modern context.
Aaryan Sharma, Kaynat, Shivansh and Harshit Simbal, all college-goers, said they had prepared gifts for Raksha Bandhan for the last two years.
Many visitors expressed their appreciation for the effort and creativity involved, noting that such initiatives provided valuable learning experiences for young minds.
