Young swimmers make a splash at state championship in Sanawar

As many as 178 young swimmers from Shimla, Kangra, Mandi, Solan, Una, Baddi, Palampur, and Hamirpur districts participated in the two-day aquatic showdown.
Kasauli MLA Vinod Sultanpuri, who opened the championship, exhorted the young athletes to compete with integrity and uphold the honour of the sport, saying, “Let this event not only be about winning, but also about celebrating fair play, discipline, and district pride.”
The inaugural session featured an oath-taking ceremony, led by host team captain Deven Deswal, where participants affirmed their commitment to ethical competition and mutual respect in sport.
Lawrence School headmaster Himmat Singh Dhillon said the school was dedicated to developing top-tier sports infrastructure. “Sanawar remains committed to creating an environment for young athletes to thrive. Our state-of-the-art swimming complex is a testament to our vision. We look forward to hosting more such sporting events in future,” he said.
