A joint team of the Chamba police and the Drugs Control Administration apprehended a youth in possession of habit-forming drugs in Chamba.
The accused, identified as Gourav, was found carrying banned substances during a search prompted by his suspicious behaviour. Authorities recovered 31 tablets of buprenorphine, classified under the NDPS Act, along with 20 capsules of pregabalin.
As the accused failed to produce any documents, bills or a licence for possessing the drugs, the Drugs Control Administration seized the pregabalin capsules, while the police confiscated the buprenorphine tablets and registered a case against him under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act and the NDPS Act.
