Youth Congress workers staged a protest march here today and showed black flags to Mandi MP Kangana Ranaut against her recent remarks against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and state Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Vikramaditya Singh. They raised slogans of “go back, go back” against the MP.

The protesters, led by Akhil Agnihotri, alleged that Kangana’s remarks were not only disrespectful but also unbecoming of a public representative. They said that as a Member of Parliament, she should maintain the dignity of her position and avoid making controversial and personal remarks against opposition leaders.

“The Youth Congress opposes Kangana’s repeated attempts to create political unrest through provocative statements. Now that she has been elected from the Mandi parliamentary constituency, she must behave responsibly,” a protester said.

The demonstrators demanded an apology from Kangana and urged her to focus on developmental issues concerning the region instead of indulging in political mudslinging.

The protest march created temporary disruption in the area but the police brought the situation under control.
