Youth found dead from ‘drug overdose’

A 21-year-old youth, identified as Snehal, son of Kapil Kumar and a resident of Sector 3, New Shimla, has died from an alleged drug overdose in Shimla.

According to reports, Snehal visited a restaurant in the Sanjauli locality of Shimla and proceeded to use the washroom. When he failed to come out, the restaurant staff became suspicious and began knocking on the door. After receiving no response, they alerted the police.

A police team arrived at the scene and forced open the washroom door, where they found Snehal unconscious, with an injection mark on his arm. A syringe was also found at the spot. He was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival. Authorities said the exact cause of death will be confirmed once the post-mortem report is received.
