Chief Parliamentary Secretary (Education and Urban Development Department) Ashish Butail inaugurated the entrepreneurial mindset classes programme ‘Samagra Shiksha’ in Dharamsala today. He said the youth would be trained as per the market demand to provide them employment and self-employment opportunities.

Butail said that a maximum provision of Rs 9,560 crore in the Budget had been made for better educational facilities in the state. Special emphasis is being given to vocational education in the state. Keeping in mind the present conditions, children are being taught as per the New Education Policy. Under the National Education Policy 2020, integration of technology-based learning platforms is being recognised so that students can identify skills as per their interest and pursue the same field. Kangra is the first district in the state where the programme has started on a pilot basis, he added.

Earlier, State Project Director Rajesh Sharma provided detailed information about the programme. He said that this programme is a pilot initiative designed for 56,529 students of classes 9 to 12 in the Kangra district with an aim to equip the youth of Himachal Pradesh with the skills required for success in various livelihood options.
