The quarterly meeting of the Zila Parishad of Sirmaur was held today under the chairpersonship of Seema Kanyal. Addressing the gathering, she emphasised that collaborative efforts between elected representatives and district officials would accelerate the execution of development projects, ensuring maximum benefits for the public and timely completion of works.

She further said minor financial expenditures should not become a bottleneck in decision-making, urging officials to resolve such matters promptly. Stressing the importance of these meetings, she asserted that the presence of government officers is crucial in translating policies into ground-level implementation.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Sirmaur, LR Verma, along with Zila Parishad members, Block Development Officers (BDOs), and officials from key departments including Public Works, Jal Shakti, Power, Agriculture, Horticulture and Education.

The meeting discussed and reviewed 86 ongoing and new agenda items, including the approval of the 15th Finance Commission’s 2025-26 project shelf. The major projects focused on education, agriculture, healthcare, electricity, roads and drinking water facilities.

Members deliberated on various proposals, and after a detailed discussion, a consensus was reached on most issues. The concerned departments agreed on the implementation roadmap for various schemes.

Conducting the meeting, District Development Officer and Secretary of the Zila Parishad, Abhishek Mittal, urged all officials to ensure that matters raised by the members are resolved within a stipulated time frame.

The meeting reaffirmed the district administration’s commitment to responsive governance, ensuring that public welfare schemes are effectively executed for the holistic development of Sirmaur district.
