Heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh till June 28
With Southwest monsoon advancing towards Himachal Pradesh (HP), the state is very likely to witness heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely till June 28. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange as well as yellow alert for several districts in the state, citing heavy to very heavy spells of rain.
As per the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain is very likely to continue at many places of the state from June 23 to 27 with one or two spells of heavy rain at isolated places on June 24 and few spells of very heavy rain at isolated places on June 23, 25, 26 and 27th. Minimum and maximum temperatures across the state will remain normal during the next four to five days.
Meanwhile, the state experienced light to moderate rain at few places during the past 24 hours. No large change was observed in minimum temperatures as they were in the range of 12°C to 27°C. Similarly, maximum temperatures were between 18°C and 34°C during the last 24 hours.
Shimla, the state’s capital, recorded 23.2°C maximum temperature while prominent tourist destinations Dharamshala, Manali and Kasauli recorded 27°C, 26°C and 23.2°C, respectively.
Maximum temperature in Solan was 29.9°C, Mandi 30.4°C, Kangra 30.8°C, Chamba 30.7 °C, Bilaspur 32.1°C, Kalpa 26°C, Kufri 20.5°C, Nahan 32.8°C, Bhuntar 32.6°C, Sundernagar 31.1°C, Narkanda 21°C, Reckong Peo 30.9°C and Keylong 24.1°C.
With 34.4°C maximum temperature, Una was the hottest place in the state, while Kukumseri village in tribal district of Lahaul and Spiti was the coldest as it recorded 12.2°C minimum temperature.
