Ropar, February 19
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Ropar, has made it to top 100 Times Higher Education’s (THE) Emerging Economies University Rankings 2020.
It is ranked 63rd, sharing the position with IIT-Madras and entering the top 100 list for the first time.
The college has been ranked number one in the world in research citations with a score of 100 per cent.
The rankings are based on 13 performance indicators, including faculty, research and citations and international outlook. In all, 533 universities across 47 countries feature on the list.
The IIT-Ropar set up in 2008 also shares the top place in India along with the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, with its position in the 301-350 rank.
Sarit K Das, IIT-Ropar Director, said: “In only a decade of coming up, the institute has ventured into a number of nationally relevant research projects.” — TNS
