In the vast sea of startups, it’s rare to find ventures that prioritize solving issues for diverse populations without an immediate promise of lucrative returns. However, breaking the mold are four innovative startups whose “user-first” ethos is what sets them apart. These innovative ventures are part of this year’s Cohort of Conquest BITS Pilani, India’s largest student-run startup accelerator. Let’s get into what makes these startups stand out from the crowd.
Claravest
Real estate has long been hailed as a golden goose for investors, but entering this market has traditionally been a complex task. Claravest is a platform revolutionising property investment by allowing individuals to invest in residential real estate for a fraction of the property’s total cost. Founders Karan and Mananki, dissatisfied with the real estate industry’s inaccessibility to people outside of HNIs and institutional investors during their Silicon Valley stint, returned to India to democratise property investment.
With Claravest, you can begin your real estate investment journey with just 1 lakh rupees. Their highly vetted listings and thorough due diligence process ensures you can invest with peace of mind. Claravest is opening doors previously closed to the average investor by reducing the barriers to entry of high capital and allowing retail investors to invest small amounts of money in multiple properties to earn rental yields plus property appreciation.
Just as Claravest thought of a new way to invest in real estate, Djooky is pioneering unconventional investment opportunities in the music industry.
Djooky
Djooky is a global, inclusive, decentralized market-based ecosystem which utilizes cutting-edge technologies to support music creators, music services and music lovers.
Djooky’s ecosystem includes a marketplace for music IP rights where artists can issue shares in the songs’ royalty rights and a global online song contest with the unique HitHunter feature which gamifies the scouting experience of the platform’s users and prepares them to become investors in music IP rights.
Djooky puts their artists above everything & keeping this spirit alive of supporting artists is MeMeraki.
MeMeraki
MeMeraki steps onto the stage as India’s first ‘culture-tech’ platform. With an aspiration to digitise every heritage art and craft of India by enabling master artists from the remotest corners of India to sell or teach their art through their platform, MeMeraki is painting a brighter future for the country’s vast artisan community, creating a digital identity and voice for them.
Founder Yosha Gupta, drawing inspiration from her small-town roots, recognised the challenges of local artists and set out to give them the spotlight they deserve. Using AR/VR technology, MeMeraki brings traditional Indian art into modern homes, allowing customers to visualise paintings on their walls before purchase. Their offline workshops and DIY kits further immerse art enthusiasts in India’s rich artistic heritage.
Qlan
Qlan is a gaming discovery and engagement app for games and gaming brands to execute ROI-driven GTM strategies effectively through its features and an engaged community of 500K+ gamers, esports players, and content creators.
Built on the thesis that gamers and gaming businesses need a unified platform for collective growth, Qlan incentivizes community-led testing, acquisition, engagement and content creation for game studios, game publishers and gaming businesses.
With over 20% of global game downloads coming from India and the industry poised to be worth $7billion+ by 2028, a platform like Qlan is positioned to facilitate community-driven solutions for the sector’s growth.
From reimagining real estate investment to amplifying artistic voices, from revolutionising music rights to building gaming communities, these four startups – Claravest, Djooky, MeMeraki, and Qlan – are solving unique problems often overlooked by many. Each in their own way, they’re painting a picture of a more inclusive and engaging future.
These five are just a glimpse of the 27 groundbreaking startups that secured a spot in Conquest’s 2024 cohort. With Conquest’s offline week approaching, running from June 5th to 11th in Bangalore.
