The team of ethical dog breeders in India aims to revolutionize pet care in India

The pet retail industry in India is already thriving and Premium Pet House sees a tremendous scope of growth in it. Its emphasis will be more on helping dog owners understand the nutritional requirements for different breeds, helping them make the right purchases.

The State Of India’s Pet Industry

The Indian pet industry was valued at approximately $9.95 as of FY2023. Expecting a CAGR of 5.65, it is likely to reach $14.62 billion by FY2031. This boom is expected to be caused by increased urbanization and higher disposable income. Over time, people have hesitated to buy pets because of high maintenance costs. With more money in their pockets, more people can afford to purchase pets and their supplies today.

Another key reason behind the Indian pet industry’s growth is the need for pets to improve mental health. People across the globe are becoming increasingly aware of the dangers of mental health issues. Having a pet helps them alleviate issues like anxiety, depression, and many more.

Premium Pet House claims that it won’t take undue advantage of this growth in the industry. It will continue to provide pet parents with affordable pet supplies and accessories. The company will use the investment to improve the quality of its products and expand the product line. Along with ethically-bred dogs, Premium Pet House will sell products like dog food, treats, medicines, toys, beds, collars, leashes, and more.

How Did Premium Pet House Make It?

Premium Pet House is the brainchild of Mr Shivling Giri who founded it in 2011. Realizing the need for a regulated and ethical dog breeding industry in the country, he took the initiative of providing healthy puppies bred ethically to dog lovers.

Humble beginnings soon led to the company’s expansion as it started selling breeds like Labrador Retriever puppies, German Shepherd puppies, Shih Tzu puppies, Golden Retriever puppies, and more.

Mr Giri started Premium Pet House with a team of three members. As of 2024, this number has increased to over 300. The company has its breeding farms and ethical dog breeders across the country. With a committed team and a turnover of over 30 crores, Premium Pet House is confident of its entry into the retail pet industry.

Why Did Premium Pet House Enter The Retail Pet Industry?

Mr Giri ventured into the Indian retail pet industry because of the need for personalization. He says, “The industry today lacks personalization despite growth. Different dog breeds have different needs. It can be extremely harmful for a pet parent to make an uninformed purchase. Only professionals who understand these furry friends can truly help dog lovers buy the right pet products. This motivated us to expand into this industry and use our knowledge to help dog lovers in India.

We have already helped thousands of dog lovers buy healthy pets. We recommend the right breeds to the right buyers. With a loyal customer base, we believe that our entry into retail will be received well. Just like we connected our customers to their favourite breeds, we aim to connect pets to their favourite products! Everyone at Premium Pet House is excited about this new and extremely important step.”

Does Pet Care In India Need A Boost?

When asked about the greater implications of the $1 million investment, Mr Giri said that this will boost India’s pet care industry. While the money is flowing in the industry, only a few players are taking an organized approach. Premium Pet House believes that the investment it secured will motivate other industry players to improve pet care in India.

Premium Pet House also aims to revolutionize the Indian pet care industry by making personalized purchases easier. Mr Giri claims that not all products are available on all platforms, making things difficult for pet parents. His company’s expansion into retail will make a wide range of products available at the click of a button.

Premium Pet House will release its final product list on its online portal by February 2025. Its products will also be available on leading eCommerce platforms.
