‘Wife’s body kept lying at GMCH-32 for four days’

Dera Bassi: A senior citizen from Dera Bassi has alleged that his wife's body kept lying at the GMCH-32 for four days. No PPE kit or ambulance was provided to him to shift the body to a crematorium, he alleged.

On August 17, he, along with a group of volunteers, transported the body to the Balongi electric crematorium to perform last rites.

The Dera Bassi hospital authorities said that the ambulance had gone to ferry a patient to Patiala. Later, there was no slot available at the designated crematorium.

Later, no arrangements were made for three days to cremate

the body.
