Middle classes will top the agenda as the government and the ruling party on Thursday commenced a campaign to mark 11 years of the ruling BJP-led NDA dispensation.
The first part of the outreach that began today focuses on the middle classes, with government sources saying the middle class had been at the heart of the nation’s progress in the past 11 years.
“Their hopes, needs and aspirations have not just been heard but acted upon with purpose. From tax relief that leaves more money in their hands to pension schemes that promise security in old age, the last 11 years have seen a steady and sincere effort to make life easier, fairer and more dignified for millions,” a government outreach document said.
PM Narendra Modi-led NDA’s first anniversary falls on June 9 and the outreach is timed around this. Parallel to the government, the BJP also today launched ‘Sankalp Siddhi Yatra’ which will continue till August 15 to disseminate the government's achievements over the past 11 years. The outreach says the government has cut through red tape, simplified rules and made everyday systems work better.
