Nursing student raped by auto-rickshaw driver in Maharashtra's Ratnagiri
Parents file rape case, survivor admitted to a hospital, police look out for accused based on CCTV footage
Chandigarh, August 27
Protests broke out in Maharashtra's Ratnagiri after parents of a 19-year-old nursing student alleged that their daughter was raped by an auto driver after spiking her drink.
Police said that the nursing student, after finishing her duty, was returning home in an auto when the driver allegedly offered her water laced with sedatives. The driver took her to a secluded place and raped her and later fled, the police added.
The survivor has been admitted to a hospital, while the police are looking out for the accused based on the CCTV footage.
This comes amid raging agitation over the rape and murder of a woman junior doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata.
