Efforts underway on Tuesday to rescue nine labourers trapped inside a coal mine in Dima Hasao district of Assam. The state requisitioned Navy divers to assist the local authorities in rescuing the workers.
The water level inside the quarry has risen to nearly 100 feet. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said a person had been arrested after the registration of a case as the mine appeared to be illegal.
