New Delhi, October 23
Actor-politician Gautami Tadimalla on Monday resigned from the BJP, ending her 25-year association with the party.
In a letter on X, she alleged that a section of the BJP was supporting someone who had duped her of her life’s earnings. She also claimed that the BJP had promised her a ticket in 2021, but did not oblige.
“I have decided to resign with a heavy heart and disillusionment,” she said in a post tagging BJP national president JP Nadda and party’s state chief K Annamalai.
Tadimalla alleged a particular person “has swindled me of my money, property and documents.” She said she became acquainted with him 20 years ago and had entrusted with him the sale and documents of several of her lands. She found out recently he had defrauded her.
“Not only do I not have any support from the party and leaders, but it has also come to my knowledge that several amongst them supported the person who betrayed my trust,” she said.
