Army promotes sustainable farming in Sudan
The Army battalion deployed in Sudan with the UN forces has successfully executed a agricultural initiative aimed at empowering local communities in Abyei. The Indian battalion deployed under the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) did the event with participation from 71 locals, including 37 women and 34 men. This was to enhance agricultural knowledge and practices.
The programme, led by the Commander of the Rumajak Company Operating Base at Abyei, focused on promoting sustainable agricultural methods and fostering self-reliance among the local population. It included advanced farming techniques and practical demonstrations of effective cultivation methods.
The Indian battalion reaffirmed dedication to working closely with the community to develop sustainable solutions for the region’s agricultural challenges. By introducing sustainable agricultural practices, the Indian peacekeepers are making a lasting impact on the lives of locals.
