BIHAR BATTLE: Opposition has soft spot for infiltrators, dislike for Lord Ram, says Modi
Says Bihar saw zero development during the 15 years of the ‘jungle raj’.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday charged the RJD-Congress combine in Bihar with having a soft corner for infiltrators, but “dislike” for Lord Ram and “Chhathi Maiya” because of vote bank politics.
Addressing public meetings at Araria and Bhagalpur, Modi said his “remote control” was with the people. The Opposition has repeatedly said that if the NDA wins in Bihar, the state government will be remote-controlled by Delhi.
In Bhagalpur, he referred to the thermal plants being built in Bihar. “Several investors want to invest in Bihar, but I must warn you that if they get a hint of the ‘jungle raj’ returning, they will flee,” the PM said, hinting at the criticism by the Opposition over land allotted to Adani near Bhagalpur.
“Bihar saw zero development during the 15 years of the ‘jungle raj’. No highways and bridges were built, nor were any centres of higher learning set up. The NDA under the leadership of CM Nitish Kumar has worked very hard to bring the state out of that era. Today, Bihar has so many expressways, bridges over rivers, as many as four central universities and other centres of higher learning. Only the NDA can ensure that this journey towards growth continues uninterrupted,” he said.
“The RJD regime destroyed the lives of your parents through non-performance and anarchy. Make sure they do not return and destroy yours,” the PM exhorted the youth.
He reiterated his commitment to make Bihar a manufacturing hub. “Your dreams are my pledge,” said Modi.
He spoke about “infighting” in the Mahagathbandhan. “The Congress was forced to accept the RJD’s CM face. The Congress is trying to destroy the RJD. They will be after each other after the elections,” he said. He also slammed the Opposition for using derogatory references to Chhath Puja and the Ram Temple.
Home Minister Amit Shah, UP CM Yogi Adityanath and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also held public meetings in favour of NDA candidates in segments where voting will be held on Tuesday.
