The BJP on Saturday hit out at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his recent at a US university that Lord Ram is mythological.

Citing a video of where Gandhi, during a Brown University US event, is heard describing Indian deities, including Lord Ram, as mythological, BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said the country will never forgive Gandhi for doubting the existence of Lord Ram.

Gandhi had recently addressed the students of Brown University during his US visit.

“Rashtra Drohi Congress, Ab Ram Drohi Congress. Rahul Gandhi says Prabhu Ram is mythological or kalpanik. (Rahul Gandhi says Lord Ram is imaginary),” said Shehzad, adding “This is how and why they (Congress) opposed Ram Mandir and even doubted existence of Prabhu Ram…,” Poonawala said on X while sharing a video of Rahul Gandhi.

Gandhi is heard in the video clip saying, “...All are mythological figures, Lord Ram was of that type, where he was forgiving, he was compassionate....”

Poonawalla said the Congress is identified with insulting Hindus and Lord Ram, and alleged that the Congress has been questioning Lord Ram, opposing Ram temple and using terms like Hindu terror.

“Now another statement has come up where he says Lord Ram is mythological. This is the same language that Sonia Gandhi used during UPA government to break the Ram Setu.

“This is the biggest example of Congress being anti-Hindi and anti-India and the people of the country will never forgive him for this,” he said.

BJP also attacked Gandhi for another video clip of the same Brown University event where a Sikh participant in the event is heard telling Gandhi that the Congress has  not reconciled with Sikhs.
