Investigations into the terror module linked to the Delhi blast case have revealed a dispute between suicide bomber Dr Umer un-Nabi and his aide Dr Muzammil Ganaie over a sum of Rs 40 lakh. The two reportedly had differences over expenditure from the funds received from the Jamaat on buying material for the blast.

The Faridabad police, meanwhile, conducted extensive search operations in the Dhauj village market area near Al Falah University, which is at the centre of the probe, on Saturday.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has already arrested Ishtiyaq, the cleric of a mosque near the university, who gave Dr Muzammil the funds to procure the material.

Probe suggests that after the Jammu and Kashmir Police started detaining people over posters surfacing in support of Jaish-e-Mohammed in the Valley, Dr Umer and Dr Shaheen Saeed, another accused, started disposing of the material from the university, fearing that the heat of the investigation might reach them.

Dr Muzammil left a grinding machine and another to melt metal at a taxi driver’s house at Dhauj village. The driver was later detained by the NIA along with the machines.

Investigators say Dr Muzammil and Dr Umer were involved in a fight in the university over the funds and it was witnessed by several students. After the altercation, Dr Umer handed over his red EcoSport car, which already contained explosives, to Dr Muzammil.

Investigations suggest that the terror module was created by brainwashing Kashmiri youth who had graduated from a medical college in Jammu. These doctors were selectively brainwashed by being repeatedly shown videos of alleged atrocities against members of their community around the world.

A day before the blast, a joint team of J&K and Faridabad police had seized 360 kg ammonium nitrate and other explosive material from a rented room of Dr Muzammil at Dhauj village. Additionally, 2,900 kg ammonium nitrate was recovered from hideouts at Fatehpur Taga village near Dhauj, clearly indicating terror module’s plans to carry out a major operation.
