New Delhi, February 5
India’s High Commissioner to Canada Sanjay Kumar Verma has again said India will not cooperate with the probe into Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar’s murder unless it shares evidence it has gathered into investigations.
Need specific info
We need relevant and specific evidence for us to help the Canadian authorities. Unless we see something relevant and specific, it would be extremely difficult for us to do anything to help the Canadian authorities. Sanjay Kumar Verma, Indian envoy to Canada
In November also, Verma had told The Canadian Globe and Mail that Canada has not shown India anything that ties Nijjar’s slaying to his country, which he says is a condition of New Delhi’s co-operation.
“There is no specific or relevant information provided in this case for us to assist them in the investigation. Where is the evidence? Where is the conclusion of the investigation? I would go a step further and say now the investigation has already been tainted., he had told The Globe and Mail last year.
Verma took a similar stand in the latest interview conducted a week back. “We need relevant and specific evidence for us to help the Canadian authorities. Unless we see something relevant and specific, it would be extremely difficult for us to do anything to help the Canadian authorities,” he maintained.
