A day after the Common University Entrance Test (CUET)-UG provisional answer key was released by the National Testing Agency (NTA), candidates have alleged inaccuracies in it.
NEET: CBI corroborates Bihar cops’ findings
The CBI team investigating the NEET-UG paper leak case has corroborated the findings of the Bihar Police. The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of the Bihar Police had concluded that the paper leak occurred with the involvement of the Oasis School authorities in Hazaribagh.
The NTA has said that candidates can challenge the provisional answer key by paying Rs 200 per question by July 9. Candidates, however, say the exorbitant fee is restraining them from challenging the inaccuracies.
Shreya Kumari, who took the exam, said, “There are so many wrong answers in the key. How can everyone pay Rs 200 to challenge each answer? There are so many mistakes that need to be challenged and it will cost us a lot.”
Another candidate, Dakshita Katoch, said, “In mass media and psychology, the key does not match with my answers at all. I am anxious, but can’t challenge the entire answer key as it will cost me around Rs 6,000.”
Another candidate Vishal Bhowmik said, “When I matched my geography OMR sheet with the provisional key, I was shocked because 80 per cent of the answers are wrong. I can counter that with solutions to those questions. When I calculated my score using the provisional key, I got only 26. If the NTA corrects the responses of those questions. I will get 122.”
In the computer science paper, the full form of ARPANET is marked as Automatic Research Practical Application Network in the provisional key, while the correct answer is “Advanced Research Projects Agency Networks”, sources said.
Any delay in the CUET-UG results will delay the admission process at central universities. The CUET result was expected to be released on June 30, but has been delayed.
Delhi University launched its online admissions portal in May. However, due to the late declaration of results, the academic year will be impacted. “The admission process can start only after the results are out. As of now, only the provisional answer key is out,” said a DU official.
