A day after Congress leader and former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi questioned the credibility of the Balakot air strike, the BJP on Saturday went all guns blazing at the opposition party accusing it of feeding the neighbour's narrative.

Calling the INDIA bloc "Rawalpindi alliance", BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra accused the Congress of potentially jeopardising national security by implying that “any government strategy shared with the party might be leaked to Pakistan”.

“The Congress Working Committee acts like ‘Pakistan working committee’. They ask us strategy as to how, when and which weapon you will use.... Great... we tell you the plans and you will waste no time conveying it to Pakistan," Patra said.

The BJP's strong remarks came in response to CWC member Channi's remarks where he again demanded proof for the surgical and air strike after the Pulwama attack. Though Channi later backtracked, the BJP slammed the Congress for continuing to “cast aspersions on the armed forces”.

Patra contrasted the CWC's recent resolution urging the Centre to respond firmly to Pakistan’s continued involvement in cross-border terrorism with Channi’s statement.
