The Resident Doctors’ Associations (RDA) of Maulana Azad Medical College, Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar Medical College and Hospital, RML Hospital, Lady Hardinge Medical College, VMMC and Safdarjung Hospital, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital and GTB Hospital here have announced the suspension of their elective services, including OPDs, operation theatres and ward duties, from Monday.

The Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association (FORDA) has asked Union Health Minister JP Nadda to ensure that no police brutality or manhandling of the protesting doctors should occur. “The Union Government must enforce a security protocol for healthcare workers across all hospitals. An expert committee comprising representatives from the medical community and associations must be formed to speed up ratifying the Central Healthcare Protection Act,” the FORDA said in a statement.
