CDS to address Australian military chiefs on Indo-Pacific challenges

During his visit, the CDS will speak at the prestigious Australian Defence College, offering insights into the evolving security landscape in the region. He will also chair a roundtable discussion at the Lowy Institute, Australia’s premier think tank.

Australia is a key partner in the Quad, alongside India, Japan and the US. As part of his engagements, the CDS will hold discussions with senior officials from the Australian Department of Defence and military leadership, including Chief of Defence Force Admiral David Johnston, Secretary of Defence Greg Moriarty and the chiefs of the three services.

The CDS will also visit the Force Command Headquarters to understand Australia’s operational command structure and explore opportunities for joint operations. Additionally, he will interact with the Australian Fleet Commander and the Joint Operations Commander to further India’s commitment to professional military training and education.

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) emphasised that this visit underscores the deepening Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between India and Australia, reinforcing their shared commitment to enhancing diplomatic and military cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region.
