The Supreme Court Collegium on Monday recommended the appointment of Justice D Krishnakumar, a judge of the Madras HC, as the next Chief Justice of the Manipur High Court.
“The Collegium is of the view that Justice D Krishnakumar is fit and suitable in all respects for being appointed as the Chief Justice of the Manipur HC,” the Collegium’s resolution stated. The recommendation was made by the three-member Collegium, led by CJI Sanjiv Khanna. Other members of the Collegium are Justice BR Gavai and Justice Surya Kant. Justice Krishnakumar was appointed as a judge of the Madras HC in 2016, and is set to retire on May 21, 2025.
