Cong, TMC to protest against Amit Shah
Congress MPs and members of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) will hold press conferences in 150 cities across the country, demanding the resignation of Home Minister Amit Shah. The party has been seeking Shah's resignation over his remarks pertaining to Ambedkar in Rajya Sabha.
West Bengal CM and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee has also given a call for protest marches across West Bengal on December 23 to condemn Shah's alleged remarks against Ambedkar. Demonstrations will be held between 2 pm and 3 pm in every block and municipality, as well as in each ward of Kolkata.
The TMC urged people to join the movement to "save democracy" and resist what she described as the BJP's "hateful and authoritarian" agenda. “Let us come together to protect the legacy of Babasaheb and the values of our Constitution,” Banerjee appealed in her post.
