After the doors of the consecrated Ram Temple were opened to public on Tuesday, over three lakh devotees visited the temple. Over 8,000 police personnel have been deployed to control the crowd.
Temple authorities said devotees had been waiting since 3 am to have the darshan of Ram Lalla. The temple will welcome visitors during two time slots daily — 7 am to 11.30 am and 2 pm to 7 pm.
Shishir Singh, Director, Information and Public Relations, Uttar Pradesh, said Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Ayodhya to see the arrangements. “Nearly, three lakh devotees have visited the temple and the same number of people has been waiting. Security is under control. As many as 8,000 police personnel have been deployed for better management,” he said.
UP Special DG (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar was present inside the temple to monitor the situation.
As the security personnel struggled to control the situation due to the huge influx of crowd, the darshan was stopped for a while in the afternoon, according to officials.
Piyush Mordia, ADG, Lucknow Zone, said security personnel would ensure no devotee faced any inconvenience.
