Delhi Airport alerts flyers of flight delays amid enhanced security measures
Delhi airport operations remained largely unaffected, but authorities have cautioned that some flight schedules and processing times at security checkpoints may experience delays due to evolving airspace conditions and heightened security measures.
The Delhi airport typically manages around 1,300 flight movements each day.
The stepped-up security protocols, introduced amid the recent tensions between India and Pakistan, continue to remain in force at major airports, including the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
On Saturday, both countries reached a mutual understanding to halt all military actions across land, air and sea with immediate effect.
“Delhi Airport operations are proceeding normally. However, due to changing airspace dynamics and enhanced security protocols, there may be some impact on flight schedules and security checkpoint processing times,” Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) stated in a post on X.
Passengers have been advised to arrive early and cooperate with airline and security staff to ensure smooth processing under the intensified screening procedures.
